No, I don’t paint commissions simply because the reasons I paint have to do with the impulse of being drawn to a landscape subject by its unique features that speak to me. It is difficult for me to be inspired when someone else chooses the subject matter. It becomes a matter of working for someone else as opposed to enjoying painting what I want to paint.
Hopefully there is no offense taken from my words regarding this. It’s just that some artists thrive on the challenge of meeting someone else’s idea of their perfect landscape while others struggle with it. I am one who struggles with it and would prefer not to do commissioned work.
I thank you for your interest just the same!
